What Is the Differences Between the Two Programs
The main Dental Hygiene Program at the 28 Vanley Cres. Toronto location has been accredited since 2004 and continues to be accredited by The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. (CDAC), Any student attending the Dental Hygiene Program at the 28 Vanley Location are attending an Accredited program.
In August 2026 Toronto College opened another program at an alternat location at 2727 Steeles Ave West Toronto . Since this is a new program it must go under the process of the accreditation before it can be labeled as accredited. The process of accreditation of a program first involves CDAC pre approving a program to start. The Dental hygiene program is then labeled as “Dental Hygiene -pending accreditation program “. Once the initial cohort reaches their last semester the program is again evaluated by CDAC. If successful, the program is then labeled as Dental Hygiene -Accredited Program .
This TCDHA Steeles location Dental Hygiene Program has been pre- approved by CDAC to open in August 2026 and is currently labeled as “Dental Hygiene-Pending Accreditation Program“. The group of students that began their dental hygiene education at this location in August 2026 will be in their last semester in November 2027. The program will then be evaluated by CDAC to establish if the program can then be changed to Dental Hygiene – Accredited Program. If accredited, all students including the ones that joined the program during the Dental Hygiene -Pending Accreditation Program will graduate from an accredited program. If in the unlikely event that the program will not be accredited then the students must pass a clinical exam after graduation to obtain their license. The cost of this exam is Approximately $2000 . TCDHA therefore discounts the Dental Hygiene - Pending Accreditation Program tuition by $3000.
Cohort size :
There is a maximum of 182 students in the Vanley cohorts and a maximum of 54 students in the Steeles cohorts.
Academics:
The only academic difference is that the Vanley Cohorts have a maximum of 182 students per didactic class where the Steeles Cohorts have a maximum of 54 students per didactic class.
All other academic , content , delivery ,labs .clinics instructor rations and course requirements are the same.
Full time program: 18 months
Additional Fees:
Books: $3,850.00
Expendable Materials: $1,300.00
Uniforms and Equipment: $1,775.00
Other Compulsory Fees: $850.00
Equipment Rental Fees: $1,100.00
International Student Fee $8,000.00 (if applicable)
*Book fees may be subject to change due to price increases by book publishers.
Tuition Information
Additional fees can only be made by certified cheque, bank draft and / or money order. Monthly tuition payments will be made by post-dated personal cheques.
Transportation fees are the responsibility of the student.
The cost of uniforms is included in the addtiional fees. This includes: Two golf shirts, two sets of scrubs, and two lab coats. Black dress pants, black shoes and white running shoes are the responsibility of the student.
Clinical insurance fees are paid to the insurance provider in advance as per their policy and are non-refundable.

Monthly Payments
Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries Inc. makes payment for the course easier through monthly payments.
Total cost of the program including books, uniforms, equipment, etc is $57,925.00 (18.5 months).

The Lifelong Learning Plan
The Canada Revenue Agency Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP): http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/rrsp-reer/llp-reep/menu-eng.html allows you to withdraw funds from your RRSP's to finance your education. You can also withdraw funding from your spouse or common law partner's LLP. Limits are $10,000.00 per year to a maximum of $20,000.00.
